The Pegasus Chatelaine is as unique as it is STUNNING!
Chatelaines are an adornment used by both men and women and usually fastened to belt or pocket. They typically have 3 - 7 chains bearing hooks on which to hang small articles such as watches, keys, seals, writing tablets, scissors, and purses. The word chatelaine is derived from a word meaning the keeper of a castle, thus the person entrusted with the keys. Chatelaines were particularly popular during the 18th century and ranged from very simple to very ornate (gold with diamonds).
Our Chatelaines are made of hand cast, lead free Britannia pewter and have 2 different styles of backings either pin-back or a hook that slides over a belt or pocket. The Pegasus Chatelaine measures 2 1/2 X 2 3/4" and has 4 stainless steel chains.
