Thistle and Crown Luckenbooth Earrings

Beautifully detailed, original design, thistle luckenbooth hand cast in lead free pewter. Modeled after 18th century luckenbooth pendants. Luckenbooths and other trinkets with the traditional theme of a heart or hearts and crown were  sold from “Locked Booths” on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh in the early 1700’s. The earliest records of heart-shaped brooches in Scotland date back to 1503.They were typically given to someone as a token of love, friendship, or affection.

Earring is double sided and measures 7/8" from top of loop to bottom of heart surgical steel french hooks.
